Sasa Saastamoinen is a Finnish artist located in Helsinki, Finland. She makes paper-based mixed media paintings, usually with ink, Chinese mineral watercolours, coloured pencils, oil pastels and collage. The theme of her paintings is plant-kingdom. These plants are imaginary beings that emerge from her inner world but live their own lives, interact, have emotions and relations. The paintings celebrate the preciousness of the nature as well as the agency and intellect of plants.
